Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Budget Screens (a division of Caruso Consulting Co Ltd, "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit budgetscreens.irish or buy from us. Caruso Consulting Co Ltd is the controller of that data.

The law that applies

We handle personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Ireland's Data Protection Act 2018. Privacy questions and requests are handled by our team at theteam@customersupport.care.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to run the store and look after you.

• When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address (street, town, county, Eircode and country), any order notes, what you bought, the delivery method you chose, any discount code you used, and the amount you paid.
• Payment information: card payments are handled by Stripe Checkout and PayPal payments by PayPal, on their own systems. We receive confirmation that the payment went through and a payment reference. We never receive or store your card details.
• When you contact us: your name, email address, your message and anything you choose to include, whether you email us, use our contact form, ask for a custom or wholesale quote, or leave feedback on our review page.
• When you use the chat assistant: the messages you type into it.
• When you browse: our hosting provider handles your IP address and basic details of each request so it can deliver pages to you. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records things like the pages you visit, how you arrived, and your device and browser type.

How we use your data, and why we are allowed to

• To take, pack and deliver your order, and to send your order confirmation and shipping emails. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To answer your questions, prepare quotes, and handle returns, refunds and complaints. This is necessary for the contract, or is in our legitimate interest in looking after customers.
• To prevent fraud and keep the store secure. This is in our legitimate interest.
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it. For visitors in Ireland and the rest of the EEA we only set analytics cookies with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To keep the business and accounting records the law requires. This is a legal obligation.

If we send you marketing emails, you can ask us to stop at any time by emailing theteam@customersupport.care, and every marketing email tells you how to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers we need to run the store, and only what each one needs:

• Stripe and PayPal, who take your payment.
• Vercel, who hosts this website and runs our checkout.
• Supabase, where our order records are stored.
• Resend, who sends our order emails.
• The warehouse, supplier and courier that pack and deliver your order, who receive the details needed to deliver it, such as your name, delivery address and phone number.
• Google, for Google Analytics. Our pages also load their typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers.
• IntellextAI, who provides the chat assistant on our pages.
• Our form system, served from app-marketing-command-centre.vercel.app, which receives what you send through our contact, quote, wholesale and review feedback forms.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.

Data processed outside the EEA

Our company and some of our team are based outside the European Economic Area, and several of the service providers above store or process data outside it. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards the GDPR allows, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in our providers' terms. You can ask us for more detail about these safeguards.

Cookies and browser storage

Your cart and any discount code you apply are kept in your own browser's local storage, not on our servers. Google Analytics runs in Google's Consent Mode: for visitors in Ireland and the rest of the EEA, no analytics cookies are set unless you click Accept in our cookie banner. How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for business and accounting purposes. We keep messages and enquiries while they are useful. When we no longer need personal data, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete your data. This does not include data we must keep for administrative, legal or security reasons, such as our accounting records.
• Ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to our using it on the basis of legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
• Ask for the data you gave us in a portable format.
• Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To make a request, email theteam@customersupport.care. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on it, and we reply within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's data protection regulator, at dataprotection.ie, or to the data protection authority of the EU country where you live.

Keeping it secure

This site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and your card details are handled by Stripe and PayPal rather than by us. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, but we take care to protect yours.

Children's privacy

Our store is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us their data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
